Learn more about the CUBE
The CUBE launched in 2015 as the original entrepreneur and startup organization of the Queenstown Lakes District, primarily serving the Upper Clutha area including Wanaka, Lake Hawea, Albertown, and Luggate. The organization's programming was expanded to service Queenstown, Arrowtown, and surrounding communities in 2018 under the leadership of Ignite Wanaka in partnership with Startup Queenstown Lakes.
Today, the CUBE is part of Startup Queenstown Lakes, the region's startup and entrepreneur ecosystem. Learn more below.

A Brief History
The Centre of Unique Business Evolution (CUBE) was created to maintain the momentum that was generated by the Wanaka Gigatown Campaign that ended in 2015. The founders of the CUBE had a vision for a well-supported business community that could help diversify the economy and support entrepreneurs in their journey. Spinoffs of these efforts include the Cell co-working space.
The CUBE offered a wide variety of training and support programs and was eventually incorporated within Ignite Wanaka, the local chamber of commerce.
In late 2018, the CUBE resources and programming were incorporated into the Startup Queenstown Lakes Trust as part of a strategic, district-wide approach. CUBE programming and initiatives have been spread across the community and have laid the foundation for a long-term vision to build a more diverse and productive economy.
Our Mentorship Programmes
Great advice is the fastest path to success and the best way to avoid failure.
We are working hard to support local entrepreneurs on their journey and are pleased to be able to offer a business mentoring initiative in addition to general training programs.
The objective of the business mentoring initiative is to match founders with experienced business people that can act as a sounding board for your ideas. The CUBE has compiled a great pool of mentors, with a broad range of experience and expertise. The mentors are local people helping local business to develop.
