Marketing Comms professional needed to tell our story

Successful founders know a compelling story can win the hearts and minds of the audiences they serve. Like any good startup, we're working to increase our capabilities to tell captivating stories and increase awareness of our efforts around the District to serve our community.

Startup Queenstown Lakes is seeking a Marketing & Communications Advisor to deliver the organization's online presence and tell the story of the startups, founders, and supporters who are helping make our ecosystem successful.

In this role, you will produce content about the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, manage the organization's social media channels, email newsletters, marketing campaigns, and work closely with suppliers to develop marketing collateral including film, photography, and print. You will also be required to ensure the organization's events are well marketed, review and report on communication channels.

You will work directly with the organization’s Chief Executive to ensure that the Trusts’s mission and the successes of the Districts ecosystem are shared at a national level.

The skillsets that are needed

To be successful you will have a broad range of Marketing and Communications skills with experience in developing stories, together with expertise with digital channels. Professional interview skills and great narrative writing skills are a must, as is the ability to engage and support relationships with key stakeholders.

This is a paid, part-time contract role for up to 16 hours per week. You must be based within the Queenstown-Lakes District, be able to provide your own computer and transportation as frequent travel throughout the district is required (travel reimbursed). 

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand. We cannot support visas at this time. Being located in the Queenstown Lakes District is essential, you may be participating in events and meeting with individuals as part of your work to tell compelling stories.
