KICKSTART YOUR IDEA - START AT THE BEGINNING

Starting a business is an exciting venture, but it can also be daunting, especially for someone who has little to no experience in entrepreneurship. That's where entry-level startup programs come in. These programs are designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their business ideas into reality.

Here are some of the benefits of participating in an entry-level startup program:

  1. Expert guidance: One of the main benefits of participating in an entry-level startup program is the access to expert guidance. These programs typically have experienced coaches who can offer valuable advice and guidance on various aspects of starting a business, such as product development, finance, marketing, and fundraising.

  2. Networking opportunities: Another key benefit of participating in an entry-level startup program is the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and industry experts. This can be a great way to make valuable connections, learn from others' experiences, and even find potential investors or partners.

  3. Access to resources: Many entry-level startup programs also offer access to resources such as co-working spaces, legal services, and funding opportunities. This can be incredibly helpful for new entrepreneurs who may not have the resources to invest in these things on their own.

  4. Learning opportunities: Finally, entry-level startup programs provide excellent learning opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs. By participating in these programs, entrepreneurs can learn valuable skills, gain industry knowledge, and even gain hands-on experience in starting and running a business.

Startup Queenstown Lakes offers two entry-level programs.

  1. Kickstart: an online and ongoing self-learning program. This program offers you all the knowledge you need to start your own business in the comfort of your own home. As you go through the lessons, you are prompted to do homework and at the end you can upload a Lean Business Canvas to be marked by one of the business coaches.

  2. Spark Up: a series of live workshops that we offer 2 - 3x per year. Each series consists of three workshops, each 3 - 4 hours long, focussing on the Lean Business Canvas, marketing & finance, mindset & project management. The workshops are guided by one of our business coaches with input from fellow entrepreneurs and an opportunity to apply for our mid-level startup program Lift Off.

If you are considering participating in one of our entry-level startup programs, here are some tips to make the most of the experience:

  1. Come prepared: Before the program starts, do some research and come up with a solid business idea. This will help you make the most of the program and ensure that you can get the guidance and resources you need to turn your idea into a viable business.

  2. Be open to feedback: Throughout the program, be open to feedback and suggestions from mentors and other participants. This can be a great way to improve your business idea and ensure that you are on the right track.

  3. Network: Take advantage of networking opportunities to connect with other entrepreneurs and industry experts. This can help you build valuable connections and even open doors to potential investors or partners.

  4. Take action: Finally, don't be afraid to take action and make progress on your business idea. The program can provide a lot of valuable guidance and resources, but ultimately, it is up to you to take action and turn your idea into a successful business.

In conclusion, entry-level startup programs can be an excellent way for aspiring entrepreneurs to get started on their entrepreneurial journey. By providing expert guidance, networking opportunities, access to resources, and valuable learning opportunities, these programs can help entrepreneurs turn their business ideas into reality. If you are considering participating in an entry-level startup program, make sure to come prepared, be open to feedback, network, and take action to make the most of the experience.
